Fab design but print quality low

Pros: Whimsical, Simple Chic, Modern
"First, understand I work as a creative professional (director over 17 years) so have a keen eye for design, production detail and delivery...
Love the design. Excellent ornate design to pair with non-traditional images for a little modern holiday greeting flare (think Juicy). Color combo is great (deep gray w/ aqua pop)—also very modern and top color trend for 2010.
My issues are two-fold.
First the quality of card stock (thickness) and second, the ability to see the pixelation (DPI or dots-per-inch) which is quite obvious when looking at the thin line weight illustrative graphic. Perhaps it is a combo of the two on this press?
In my experience had a designer on my team showed this for approval—and I'd known the press/paper including challenges—I would have had them either make it work so there would be no obvious pixelation or scrap the design.
That said, this wasn't a big deal for perhaps 50% of my recipients but as 50% of my friends have worked with me in the biz in some capacity I wasn't too happy.
As I've been 110% happy in the past and have received many-many TP holiday cards all of which look fantastic, I thought it important to mention my thoughts/feedback pertaining to this design. And to be honest would be a consideration for what I might select in the future."
