Super Cute...IF they position your photo well

Pros: Modern, Simple Chic, Humorous
"These could be great birth announcements if done right, but I ended up with a photo layout that I don't like. I'm actually pretty unhappy about it because I purposely bought expensive, top-of-the-line birth announcements because, although we're living on an awfully tight budget, my son's birth announcements are really important to me and my family. I wanted the photo layout to be a very specific way and, unfortunately, did not get it that way.
I originally placed the smallest order I could (25 prints of this particular photo), so that I could see them in person and make tweaks before placing my full 100+ order. Once I received them in the mail, I knew I wanted the cropped photo moved up because I didn't like the background at the top of the photo. So I placed my big order with instructions only to move up the photo. I was told that I'd receive a proof within a day.
Instead, they made changes and sent the new photo layout directly to the printers. I only received the proof AFTER the whole order was printed. It turned out that the designer had indeed changed the photo layout, but not at all how I had requested. The new layout was zoomed out (which I didn't want) and more centered (which I didn't want). This left even more of the background that I was trying to minimize. Not only was the original problem still there, but the whole composition was changed for the worse. The original announcement, which I had wanted improved, was actually way better.
Needless to say, I'm really upset about it all. Based on the original announcements I received, I had been telling my family, friends, and co-workers how happy I was and how excited I was to send out our announcements. Instead, I will be sending out announcements that cost us a lot of money, but I don't really like. I don't know if Tinyprints would fix them, but I don't even want to ask because I don't trust them to make any more changes; the annoucements would probably just end up worse! Plus, reprinting would be a lot of waste, which I wouldn't feel good about.
So my advice is to make sure you receive a proof BEFORE printing, so that you'll get announcements you're happy with. If you receive the proof before printing, then you can easily alter the layout without a total reprint all your announcements. After all, if you're going to spend this much on birth announcements, shouldn't they be exactly how you want them?
But, despite my bad experience, I still recommend these birth announcements because they would be super cute if you get a photo layout you like. Also, when I called to place my second order, the customer service guy Pete was WONDERFUL, so I recommend them for that reason. As I mentioned before, the only problem (which was a big one!) was the timing of receiving the proof.
I hope this review will be helpful to someone. :)"

We feel terrible about this customer's experience and have contacted her to see if we can reprint her order. When she placed her reorder, it our designer's understanding that she wanted the photo zoomed out so that the wording on her son's shirt was clear.
She is absolutely correct that the issue could have been avoided had we sent the proof when we should have, and we apologize deeply for this oversight. We became aware of the problem just after the order shipped, but before it arrived to her, so we emailed a proof and let her know that if she had any changes at all to the photo cropping, we would rush a reprint to her to arrive simultaneously with the incorrectly cropped announcements at no charge. Unfortunately, she told us that the proof we sent was correct, and we did not know she was unhappy with her cards until she posted this review.
We strive for perfection and are proud to say our internal error rate is 0.02%. However, mistakes do occur. If anything in your order does not meet your expectations, please contact us. We will not rest until we've made it right.
